Elayne and Andrew’s Engagement Session – Capitola, California

Elayne and Andrew first contacted me after seeing Sondra and Josh’s Capitola engagement session on my blog. I was thrilled to hear from these two, as Capitola is a gorgeous spot to capture portraits – there is so much variety for a session! After our beautiful session together, Elayne and Andrew asked me to capture their Pennsylvania countryside wedding. I am blessed to have so many amazing couples in front of my lens. Thank you, Elayne and Andrew, for the opportunity!

Elayne and Andrew tied the knot this past Saturday at Glasbern Inn! In addition to choosing a gorgeous venue, the bride and groom’s style was reflected in their handmade details. Enjoy this sweet little preview of Elayne and Andrew’s Pennsylvania countryside wedding!

Cady and Matt – August 3, 2013, Fairfield, California

Let me be clear – 2013 looks like it will go in no particular order on my blog. I had so many amazingly gorgeous weddings in 2013 that I can’t even begin to put them in any kind of proper order. Cady and Matt’s wedding was such a beautiful day that I felt it needed to be seen as soon as possible. So many quirky personalities were thrown together on this day. From bridesmaids cutting their dresses to pieces on the day of the wedding to a couple who are so awesomely into their bridals that they schedule more than enough time for me to capture their love and silliness… I enjoyed every moment of this shindig. I hope you do too!

I do like to tell a little about my couples, and more often than not I would rather it came from the bride and groom. Cady retold their story, and beneath it is an image from their engagement session to tie it all together:

“In December 2009, my friends and I walked into Chipotle for a late dinner. Matt says he remembers being in line behind us and noticing us right away. I, however, remember sitting down and looking over to the table next to us and seeing two guys we had gone to high school with, but didn’t know well enough to talk to.

Next thing I know, one of them, Trevor, pulled up a chair at our table and brought his Corona with him. Matt reluctantly joined him and sat down by me. I was so into him that my brain was already turning on how I could get this kid my number. After a few minutes, they left, and Trevor took his Corona with him. Yes, to the parking lot. My friend and I looked at each other and said “what is this, Vegas?” It was a memorable moment.

It took six months of sporadic texting for us to actually hang out, but as soon as we did it was like that fateful day in Chipotle had always been meant to be. The day Matt asked me to be his girlfriend, we went to Chipotle. Every weekend when we would drive to visit each other, it was always Chipotle.

The day we got engaged, we went to Chipotle. We have spent afternoons there during the highs and the lows, the successes and the failures. There will always be some great memories there for us.”

Due to their initial meeting, Cady and Matt decided to hold part of their engagement session at Chipotle:

The wedding day was so amazing. I love looking back and remembering how it all unfolded.

The Rudiger Family – Mini Sessions

I offer a limited amount of mini-sessions each year for families who would like a session in order to send out images in Christmas cards or to frame for gifts. The Rudiger family and I met for a 30-minute mini-session for this very reason. I can safely say that this is one of the most photogenic families I have ever seen in my life. Loved every minute!

The image on the right was added to the package as a request from dad. No children were harmed in the making of this picture. 🙂

Kara and Matt – Engagement Session

When Kara and Matt first discussed locations for their engagement session, I immediately began to picture all the fun we could come up with. San Francisco came to mind first for the couple due to the fact that they have many favorite spots they like to visit there. In my opinion, sessions are so much more fun when you plan multiple locations and outfit changes for variety. Taking such a beautiful couple and throwing them in the middle of a beautiful city will always result in a fun, exciting session.

Can’t wait for your Wine and Roses wedding in August, Kara and Matt!
